Consumer electronics giant Samsung laid out its vision to create “new, richer experiences for European consumers through its understanding of the region” at its European Forum in Monaco. Speaking at the Forum, president and CEO of Samsung Electronics Europe, SP Kim said: “Europe is a dynamic region which continues to be at the heart of Samsung’s business and a constant source of our inspiration.”
He continued: “…our European product line-up this year reflects our commitment to challenge the norm, delight our customers and remove barriers between people and content. We want to bring our European customers notjust what they expect, but what they never dreamed was possible.”
The ‘Made for Europe’ appliances included the launch of RB31 refrigeration, which focused on organisation and use of space, an Ecobubble washing machine, built-in oven and Smart Oven. These home appliance launches were showcased alongside the company latest TVs, cameras, PCs and printers.
Samsung has announced a free five – year parts and labour warranty on its latest range of home appliances, available on purchases made before October 31. The warranty is available on appliances including its Ecobubble washing machine, G-Series refrigeration range, Dual Cook oven range, Compact oven range and AnyPlace induction hob.
Home appliance brand Haier has announced its support of the Science Museum in London, with a partnership that will run, initially, for two years. lt believes sponsoring the new-technology and family-friendly galleries is a good opportunity to engage with the British public. The museum attracts 3 million visitors a year and up to 20,000 on busy days, with 360,000 young people in booked educational groups per year

Appliance manufacturer Samsung has opened its first UK cookery school, with kitchen appliance retailer Nailsea Electrical in Bristol. The purpose-built 102 Cookery School features Samsung kitchen appliances, including Dual Cook ovens, AnyPlace induction hobs and Steam compacts. It will play host to courses for novice and experienced cooks, including ‘demonstration and dine’ events led by Michelin – starred and AA Rosette-rated chefs.
These include Toby Gntten who appeared on Channel 4′s Jamies Great Britain and monthly cookery and wine pairing with Josh Eggleton of The Pony and Trap and Ronnie Faulkner of Ronnies of Thombury & The Muset by Ronnie. Product manager for Samsung Home Appliances, Nick Bevan said: “Samsung is thrilled to be part of 102 Cookery School. We’re excited to work with top local chefs in Samsung’s very first cookery school venture and are looking forward to giving everyone the opportunity to use our leading technology.”
Adding to its Elixir range, Matki has just introduced the water-saving Matki-Air Hand Shower: According to the company, it uses air·mixing technology to cut water usage by 50%. The chrome-plated hand shower has a white spray face, with easy-clean nozzles, and comes in 100mm and 130mm options.
Robert Lee Distribution has just launched Perla wall panels, designed as an alternative to tiling. The Perla wall panels are available in a choice of six finishes and measure 2400 x 1200mm. Created to be ‘easy to maintain, simple to install and a hygienic solution for areas susceptible to water damage@, the panels do not require grouting. They can also be fitted over existing wall coverings.

PWS has launched Milbourne furniture in a palette of four colours including Alabasten Chalk, Almond and Sage. Milbourne features an over- painted foil construction, a 22mm frame with 115mm stiles and three- piece drawer fronts. The range is available with curved elements including a 300mm curved door and cornice, plinth and lighting pelmet.
Danish company Vipp has introduced the Vipp kitchen to its offering, designed to be a ‘radical reinterpretation of the kitchen. A range of kitchen modules made from stainless steel have been created and can be combined based on individual needs. Available in black and white, the Vipp kitchen includes fixtures, drawer pulls and inserts, range hood and gas knobs, all developed with the company’s design identity.

Adding to its Luxury range of extractors, Falmec has launched the Ghost wall-mounted hood with a 800m3/h motor. Ghost features ambient LED lighting down each side and underneath, and measures 600mm wide and 960mm tall. It boasts an automatic front door, which tucks away when it is not in use.
Rangemaster has upgraded its integrated dishwashers to include a timer function, allowing the user to coincide dishwashing cycles with cheaper energy tariffs. The dishwashers are available in two sizes, a 450mm slimline model with nine place settings and a 600mm model with 12 place settings. AAA rated for energy, the dishwashers feature six washing temperatures and eight washing programmes, with the 600mm model also featuring a ‘haIf load` option.
Expanding its G-Series refrigeration range, Samsung is introducing the 700mm Combi fridge freezers, featuring a 440-litre capacity thanks to its “Thin Wall” insulation technology. The range will feature LED lighting, which is said to use 75% less energy, as well as a slim water dispenser and twist ice maker. The G-Series Combi refrigerator benefits from the companys Smart Eco System which applies sensor technologies and a self-adjusting compressor operation tailored to every consumer’s usage.
The Barwood Products Doc M Pack has been chosen by Olympic Construction company Elliott for the London 2012 Athletes Village. Over 200 Doc M packs will be supplied by Travis Perkins for the shops, restaurants and facilities. The Doc M pack has WRAS approved cistern fittings and brassware.
Lighting manufacturer Astro achieved a record level of sales orders during june and july, up 65% on the same period last year In addition, its annual sales have also accelerated with 2010 up 22% on 2009 and 2011 forecast to be up by 36%. Samsung is lending support to Haringey Council in London to help families in the borough who lost possessions during the riots. lt is providing white and brown goods to the council to distribute to affected people. Samsung has introduced its G-Series range of refrigeration, which includes the American-style Three Door model. The Three Door (RFG23DERS) boasts a 525-litre capacity, flexible shelving and benefits from Twin Cooling Plus technology, allowing separate control of the fridge and freezer compartments. Measuring 1780 x 908 x 712mm, it features a plumbed ice and water dispenser; T FreshSafe vegetable drawers and an independent fridge drawer which can be set to three temperatures.
Adding to its offer Franke has introduced the Roller hood, with, a steep angled design and halogen lights. Measuring 900 wide, it is manufactured from black glass, and features stainless steel strips. The Roller hood can be operated by a choice of touch or optional remote control. A 24-hour ventilation function provides a constant flow of clean air through the room and a filtering function recycles fumes when an external duct is unavailable.
Electrolux has launched a collection of Domino hobs, offering a choice of induction, ceramic and gas. The 290mm wide collection comprises the EHD3000K induction hob with two power zones and EHCZOZOOK ceramic hob with two power zones. Also included in the line-up is the EHGBOZOOK gas hob, which boasts a rapid burner; while the EHGSOSBOK has a triple crown burner.
Snaidero has introduced five additional finishes to the glass version of its Orange kitchen. The latest decors for its 22mm thick glass doors include Feather Grey, Atlantic Grey, Sangria Red, Burned Brown and Black. Orange kitchen furniture is available in over 70 different colours and materials, with wall units in a choice of widths and heights. Samsung has entered into the buiIt-in refrigeration market with its RL27TEFSW fridge freezer. The unit boasts a 265-litre capacity, with a T93 Iitre fridge and 72-Iitre freezing capacity. RL27TEFSW features seIf-cIosing hinges, LED temperature indicator lights and a Power Cool mode. It measures 1770 x 558 x 540mm and is A++ rated for energy.
