Appliance brand Rangemaster now has its own page on social media networking site Facebook. The personalised page allows fans to post recipes, hints and tips, plus kitchen stories. In addition, the page will also keep fans up-to-date on Rangemaster news and events.

Adam Furniture has launched a website for each of its brands, to give access to brochures and information on each of them. Hoping to raise £20,000 for WaterAid, organiser of kbbLondon and kbbBirmingham UBM Live is calling on the industry to support its fund-raising events. WaterAid is a charity working in 26 countries across Africa, Asia and Pacific regions to provide sanitation and hygiene. Launching the campaign at kbbLondon, it hopes to reach its target by kbb Birmingham in 2012.

Little bits of news

Slovenian appliance manufacturer Gorenje has published a brochure for its Gorenje by Karim Rashid design line. The A4 brochure features lifestyle photography, as well as technical details and product specifications, to assist retailers and consumers in the sales process. The brochure covers all the products featured in the collection, including hoods, hobs and ovens.

Trainer for the kitchen and bathroom industry, Graham Hayden has announced details of two courses, aimed at improving staff skills and increasing profitable company sales. Understanding and using body language to your advantage’, takes place on January 19, while ‘Presentation skills using ‘inner game’ techniques takes place on March 16. Award-winning kitchen designer Diane Berry, of Diane Berry Kitchens in Manchester, has represented the UK in Alno’s first showcase of international design trends. She was one of six international designers to create a kitchen reflective of her nation’s interior trends, culture and lifestyle. The concept was launched at the Corso Internationale exhibition in Germany, alongside kitchens created by designers from ltaly, France, Norway, USA and Taiwan.

Ripples bathroom showrooms are holding a Christmas Draw to win a £150 Harvey Nichols Hamper in aid of charity, Whatever the need. The UK charity provides composting toilets to those without sanitation. Tickets are £5 each and Ripples is hoping to raise £22,000, which will be invested in the village of Arasur in India. The draw will take place in each showroom on December 16, 2010.

Earle & Ginger best kitchen retailer in north:

Metris dealer Earle & Ginger of Manchester scooped the award for Best Kitchen Retailer at the Northern Design Awards, held at the Grosvenor Hotel in Chester.

Organised by publisher of Concept for Living magazine, a homes and garden title for the North, the awards recognise the design industry. The award was judged on the quality of product offering, together with the company’s customer service. Partner at Earle & Gingen Vincent Bentham said: “We were delighted to be shortlisted for two categories and overjoyed when we won the Best Kitchen Retailer award.

Our latest collection, Metris has really elevated our portfolio. As the exclusive Metris dealer in the Didsbury area, the premium,  contemporary collection is right up there with the top German and Italian brands. “To beat names such as Stuart Frazen, Clive Christian, Warendorfand, Harvey Jones demonstrates how highly regarded our company is becoming in the North of England. Searle & Taylor opens EWE training centre:

Following the launch of Ewe and Intuo by Ewe into the UK, its agent Searle & Taylor has refitted its Hampshire studio. It has created the largest UK showroom and dealer training centre for the Austrian furniture brands.

The 3,000sq ft showroom features four displays for the premium Intuo collection and a further four displays are dedicated to the EWE ranges. ln addition, a further four displays highlight Searle & Taylor’s traditional kitchen offer which includes handmade and bespoke solid wood designs.

Director of Searle & Taylor, Jeff Searle commented: “In less than a year, we have over 20 dealers stocking the Intuo and Ewe ranges nationwide, and an increasing level of interest in the brands from consumers.  We felt that the time was right to dedicate more space to these stunning kitchens in order to showcase them in our showroom, and to offer an ideal location for dealer training in the UK”.

Teka has launched a sink and tap range spanning premium, mid-market and budget-priced models. The 50-strong sink range boasts Linea undermounts, the Teka D bowl family with single and one-and- a-half bowl models and a LED lighting system to illuminate the frame of undermounts. Completing the collection are taps, which include Bohme (shown), that features a revised slim-line cartridge design and comes in brushed nickel or chrome.

Whirlpool has introduced a gloss white finish called Intense White for its Nova American-sty|e fridge freezer range. The WSN 5554 A+W has an A+-energy rating, which together with the company’s 6th Sense technology, delivers 25% greater efficiency than A according to Whirlpool. lt boasts a No Frost system, anti-bacterial filter with Microban and Easy Fill filtered water system, with rotating head to allow the filling of bottles.

A fashionable return to traditional kitchen styling has seen the introduction of the Revival Shaker door by Mereway, as part of its English Revival range. It features 78mm stiles and rails and a beaded profile on all frames, with 19mm dowelled cabinets and solid timber dovetail drawerboxes. lt is available in Natural Oak, as well as the same five painted colours as its Lincoln collection, plus a ready to paint option is also available.

Fresh from Eurocucina, the Satina kitchen furniture range from is now available in the UK. As its name suggests, Satina boasts a velvet-like, glass finish on its units and an integrated appliance option with colour co-ordinated glass fronted appliances. The furniture comes complete with smoked oak drawer interiors, providing a range of storage options from wine through to multi-function inserts for herbs and spices.

Botticino and Pierre Bleue are the latest quartz worksurface colours launched by Spanish manufacturer.  According to the company, the quartz worktops are heat, impact and abrasion resistant and can be fabricated and profiled. Alike all of the Compac worktop range, these colours are available in 3m lengths, a variety of thicknesses and come with a Lifetime Warranty.

Marc Newson has designed a self-titled appliance collection for Smeg featuring ovens, gas and induction hobs. Forming part of the collection is the pyrolytic F6l0 oven which features 10 functions, two internal halogen lights and comes with touch controls. The Marc Newson pyrolytic oven is available in stainless steel, black and white finishes, through to blue, yellow and green.

Magnolia is the latest colour addition to the Pronorm kitchen door palette, which has been designed to combine with darker woodgrains, such as Rift Oak. It is available in a matt lacquer or matt laminate finish and features on the Proline 128 and Classic Line kitchen ranges. There are now eleven colours in a matt finish, available from Proline, from a total palette of 31 colours.

A built-in fridge freezen the NRKI-ORA, has now been added to the Ora llto Black Collection by Gorenje. It has a 200-litre fridge capacity and 62-litre freezer capacity and boasts an A+ energy rating. The fridge freezer boasts a Fast Cool setting, Zero’n’Fresh drawer to keep food at 0°C, large crisper drawer and Ready’n’Serve’ shelf designed to be taken from the fridge and used as a serving plate.

Kitchen snippets

Polish appliance manufacturer Amica has just introduced lnari, a built-in induction hob with unmarked zones. The Four-zone hob boasts a bridge function, which allows two zones to be controlled as one, a child lock, minute minder and pause function. lt is operated by a control panel with ErgoTouch fingertip sensor controls and a Touch Slider control for adjustment.

The ‘Get Thinner’ collection of slim-line worktops has been added to the CaesarStone offering, complementing its existing 20mm and 30mm range. Measuring 13mm, the worktops are available in six colours; Dusty Stones, Black Rocks, Buttermilk, Organic White, Oyster and Mink. According to CaesarStone, the 13mm worktops are 56% lighter in weight than its equivalent 30mm surfaces, and are chip, crack, scratch and heat resistant.

The Sense C1071G recessed gas hob has just been added to the Caple appliance portfolio to complement solid surface worktops. It features four burners, including a triple ring burner and provides auto electronic ignition. The low profile hob can be flush mounted or inset and comes in a stainless steel finish.
